Location – Hermanus, South Africa. 34°24’41’’S 19°16’41’’E
Notes – The octopus is my most favorite subject. This is the biggest octopus I’ve caught using only my hands. I had to be calm and patient as she wrapped herself around me, and then she was mine!
Recipe – I made carpaccio di polpo with this beauty. Topped its thin slices with rocket and chopped tomatoes, drizzled with my homemade vinaigrette. Served with Strandveld Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc. La Dolce Vita!
